Hot Jock Bad Ass Mark Vasconcellos is Turning Heads and Not Just in Hollywood for the Driven Entrepreneurial Force Ahead of His GQ Image

 

Talent extraordinaire Mark Vasconcellos is making headwaves in Hollywood, taking the industry by storm with his savvy on-camera panache. From acting in numerous award-winning television shows and indie films, to creating a vibrant Hollywood annex vis-à-vis New Mexico as the founder of the Las Cruces Film Office, this multi-hyphenate talent—Actor/Host/Director—has carved out a steadfast and impressive career on his terms. 

Of his latest projects, Vasconcellos won two Best Supporting Actor awards this year for his outstanding performance in the multi-award-winning indie film, Broken Gaiete, aka Village (R); currently streaming for free on Tubi. 

Participating in this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Gaiete/Village further enjoyed international market sales pick-up. Vasconcellos beams, “It was great also connecting with many VIPs from the Morocco Film Office.” Up ahead plans are underway to shoot the forthcoming sequel, Broken Gaiete/Village 2, in Morocco in 2024. 

Not to confuse his handsome bad guy portrayal with his bad ass performance, Vasconcellos’ on-camera presence and unmistakable edge make clear this talented force is one to reckon with and here to stay. 

“I’ve been fortunate to play a lot of heavy-hitting parts,” says Vasconcellos. “And that tank of opportunities has continued to fill beyond my wildest expectations.” 

What a career ride Vasconcellos has been enjoying. Next to this year’s award-winning performance in Broken Gaiete, he is set to also star in the forthcoming sequel, Broken Gaiete 2. Other productions in the works where Vasconcellos has been cast in starring roles further include Invisible Shackles and Precious Cargo. He also starred in the film, ARTO, which made its big splash among the 2023 film festival market.

Vasconcellos caught the Hollywood bug early, having received his B.A. in Film/Television Production from San Jose State University. He also studied acting in Los Angeles at the Stella Adler Conservatory West and the Actor's Circle Theater. He has also taught acting for the camera and business. At the onset of his career, he became a segment director and cameraman that took him traveling through Italy, France, and Africa. 

It was ultimately recurring roles on The CW's Easy Money, also In Plain Sight, Longmire, and AMC's Breaking Bad, that turned Vasconcellos into a go-to supporting actor in his early years. He next landed lead roles in feature films, such as: River, Lost Padre Mine, Big Mistake, The Prototype, Beyond, and Triple Threat.
